He should have known with all the butterflies. Even on your worst nights, wondering how you got that far, Katsuki was into you. But.. Things happened and things changed, resulting in the two of you splitting. For the first time in however long, you wasn't seen with Katsuki's hands around your shoulders, without him landing a pat on your back or carrying you off to your dorm after training.
And now, you walked back by yourself.
Maybe the breakup was for the better? Maybe it was just one of those things. Fate, right? No one knew, but the both of you had support that made things feel like none of it ended on bad terms. It was a mutual agreement, even with the fiery boy's regret on letting you go.

Now, it was a warm summers day and the 'Dekusquad' had returned from their adventures holding coolers of ice creams, popsicles, and ice as a treat for their class members, no one being left out with the spares going to the teachers and whoever else was around the area; even Mister Aizawa received one, which he ended up passing onto Eri instead.
Katsuki, however, watched you from the other side of the room, his lips wrapped around a cola popsicle and his eyes on you. He still thought that you looked perfect, laughing as everyone else gathered around to collect their own frozen treat to cool off. He couldn't take his eyes off of you until you glanced in his direction. He was stood there, alone with his own treat. Though.. It wasn't the treat that he really wanted..
He wanted you, his treat, back.
