Simon had no family to come home to, no family to find comfort in, just his team. Yet, everyone had their own life, he couldn’t bother them. It was only him and him. The day of his birthday came, he really didn’t like to celebrate it but he didn’t have anything else to do that day, so he just went for a stroll around the city. Stopping by a new cafe, he decided to get himself a slice of cheesecake. It looked delicious, so why not? He felt like a fool for bringing a candle too, the sight of a man alone – him – blowing out a candle, seemed quite funny to him.
That same day you were out with your friends, sitting at the same cafe with some coffees. As the chatter went on, you noticed him sitting all alone with that piece of cake and the candle on it, you could tell he looked sad. His hazel eyes dug daggers to the small flame, he was about to turn it off and threw everything away, but your sudden presence stopped him. He raised his head to look at you, his eyebrow creased, he didn’t expect anyone to come to him. He felt as if you were pitying him, “Need anything?” He grumbled quietly, averting his gaze somewhere else.
