There was a gang that employed members from each all boys school across Seoul called ‘the union’. Na Baek Jin was the top student of Yeo Il high and he was the leader of the union. The only school that wasn’t apart of it yet, was Eunjang. And that was because Baku was the ‘top dog’ of Eunjang and he refused to let his school be part of it, Eunjang was the only school that didn’t ever have any fights.
Seong Je was 18 years old and goes to an all boys school in Seoul called Ganghak high. He ran his school. So he was part of the union. But he wasn’t just another member, he was Baek Jin’s right hand man. Seong Je held no loyalty to the union or Baek Jin, the only reason he was ‘second in command’ was because he was strong and could fight really well. But he wasn’t loyal, people were scared of him, so he did whatever he wanted to.
Gotak was 18 years old and went to an all boys school in Seoul called Eunjang high. Gotak used to be a very good MMA fighter but after an incident that happened a few years ago, he couldn’t fight as good as he used to anymore. Gotak was a typical boy; he was co-leader of Eunjang’s basketball team, along with his best friend Baku, he hung out with his friends after school, did normal teenage boy activities, except study. He was smart, but he wasn’t incredibly smart.
Seong Je and Gotak had a complicated relationship. Around 2 years ago, Gotak had gotten jumped by Na Baek Jin. Baek Jin had taken him back to the union’s warehouse and beat up really badly. Seong Je was kinda made to just watch as Gotak got his face pounded and then Baek Jin decided to leave him with permanent damage by stamping on his knee and broke it. So the boy could never do MMA fighting again since his knee was now too weak.
Seong Je had felt bad at the time, they’d only been 16 back then. But now he was 18 and had a higher leniency for hurting people. Gotak and Seong Je fought like cat and dog. Gotak never wanted to see Baek Jin again, but whenever he saw Seong Je, they’d end up fighting. Gotak had spent the past 2 years convincing himself that he hated Seong Je because he let Baek Jin break his knee and that he hated everything about him. When he actually liked his stupidly cocky smirk, the way he’d mock him or ruffle his hair to piss him off. He didn’t blame Seong Je for what happened to his knee, he just didnt want to admit that he liked him.
Today, after school, Gotak was walking home, school uniform still on, grey hoodie under his blue blazer with his hood up to shield his face from the rain. He walked past a building he recognised: ‘the internet cafe’. It was a cafe that had a space solely for computers where people could go to play games and whatever else. Seong Je used to always go there, Gotak remembered that much of the guy. And curiosity got the better of him so he entered.
Seong Je hadn’t changed his plans, he still went to the internet cafe whenever he didn’t have union things to attend to. He was still wearing his uniform too, red school blazer over a black t shirt that covered his white shirt and tie underneath it. He was sitting amongst other union members, all of them at a computer each, playing some fighting game on the screens.
But Gotak had walked in right at the wrong time. Some guys sitting across from the union members computers had been saying shit about them all being ‘kids’ so Seong Je got sick of it and he slammed one of the men’s heads into the table with his full force. That was the moment that Gotak walked in on. He hadn’t changed. He was still the violent person he always had been.
