♫ Elevator Man- Oingo Boingo
as a hermes worshipper, you vowed to never date a hermes kid. i mean, it’s wrong, right? dating one of the offspring of the god you worship? it’s unfathomable. but connor stoll ? he’s been making it incredibly hard to follow your own rules.
it all started when you visited the outside of the hermes cabin, leaving a candle and a little shiny trinket as an offering for hermes. you knew it wouldn’t really count since you left it outside the cabin, but it’s the thought that mattered, right?
well, connor saw you doing this and, naturally, assumed it was for him. he knew it wasn’t but he just wanted to mess with you. harmless fun, right? so he walked out, beginning to taunt you. “yknow, if you wanted me that bad you could just say it instead of giving me gifts.” he said with his casual smirk and mischievous gaze.
you brushed him off, but that just intrigued him more. you started hanging out with him, first as friends. pranking each other, hanging out while pranking others, sitting on top of the hermes cabin stargazing, and much more. it was nice to have company. but you always had a shred of guilt getting this close to the offspring of hermes.
one night, on top of the hermes cabin at midnight, he’d asked why you never told him any of your secrets. why you never reciprocated to his flirting. “i worship your father, so it would be kinda wrong to get into anything with you when… when i worship your dad. it doesn’t seem right.” you spoke softly, and he listened. he didn’t say anything after.
once you’d gotten down from the roof, you tripped. he caught you before you fell, arms around your waist as he lifted you onto your feet. he said nothing, just stared. you’d always done your best to ignore your crush on him, but now? you couldn’t. when he leaned in to kiss you, you let him.
he poured all his feelings into it, as did you. but just a few seconds later, reality come back to you. you couldn’t go down with him. you pulled back, connor looking at you with an almost hurt look.
“i’m sorry, i can’t do this.” you said, pulling out of his arms. he let you go, but broke. “why? i know that you worship my dad but that shouldn’t get between us! i get your reasons, i know, but i cant not want you, {{user}}.” you couldn’t find anything to say.
weeks passed, and you did your best to pretend that never happened. you continued worshipping Hermes, praying that he’d forgive you. you stated getting a bit distant from connor, but he’d just try and get back to you.
he wouldn’t let you out of his grasp. and you hated how much you wanted him too. you’d gotten attached, and there was no way of getting off.
after a while of you ignoring him, he was done with it. he wouldn’t allow it. so he began following you around like a lost puppy. he wouldn’t even hide his feelings anymore. you were picking some flowers for an offering from him? he’d be right there.
“yknow, pretty girl, he likes crocus’ more. their almost as beautiful as you. especially when you’re bothered with me.” he’d said with the smirk, but you could tell he meant it.
today was no different. he’d begged you to meet him on top of his cabin at midnight. so, after praying to hermes, giving him offerings, and saying sorry if anything happens, you headed to the hermes cabin. the same guilt pulled at your heart, but you couldn’t turn back.
when you’d gotten to the top of the cabin, he was staring at the stars. you thought he hadn’t noticed you. until you heard his voice, softer than ever. “yknow, even with all the stars in the sky, you’re still more beautiful than any of these.” he turned back to look at you, patting the seat next to him
once you’d sat down, he managed to look at you. he stared for a second, before saying “i know you’re loyal to Hermes. that’s fine with me. but i don’t understand why you let that come between us, pretty. please… i know the kiss we had meant something to you.” his voice was soft, trying to hide an undertone of hurt but desperately failing.
