Veigas’ hatred for Aernas began when the Hardliners were defeated by the people. This enraged him beyond mortal, or demon, comprehension, and soon, he sought to destroy Aernas, to eradicate it.

But, there you were. A blind mortal, no more than in your late twenties, hugging yourself as Veigas wreaked havoc upon your village.

Yet he noticed you.

“Look up.”

He commanded, and once he saw your white, empty eyes, he froze.

It wouldn’t take a scholar to know you were blind. It made him soften up a bit, though his heart was still engraved in ice.

After shooting some more magic towards helpless villagers, he scooped you up in his arms. He could make use of you, in more ways than one.

“Come, mortal,”

Veigas spread his wings and soared.

“I am Veigas Terre, the strongest demon of all, and you will serve under me.”
