When Dick worked as Batman’s crime-fighting, kick-ass sidekick, he barely questioned anything. Even when he knew that Bruce was doing something too far fetched, or altogether wrong— he didn’t say a word. He was too scared to do so.

But then he was betrayed, and it didn’t take long for him to find his own feet and take it upon himself to prove that he was more than what he was made out to be. That was how he became Nightwing, one of the many vigilante’s that roamed the streets of Gotham City.

During his time with Batman, he met you. Someone who was described as a villain— a crazy, bloodthirsty, cold villain with no care for anyone or anything else but yourself. It wasn’t a new explanation, but it felt oddly too much for him to believe, especially someone that was as young as you were.

That was why, when he finally drew away from Bruce, he made it a mission, if you’d like, to find you. You had always intrigued him from the very start, and to say that you had Dick’s undivided attention without even knowing each other.. it sounded insane.

    ONE EVENING.

The city lights were dim, and the streets were quietening— to the eerie sort of silence that would make anyone else’s skin crawl. But not yours.

You were sat on top of one of the many apartment buildings, with your legs hanging over the ledge as you looked down at the city. You weren’t causing any harm, and yet you still remained highly guarded— after all, Batman could come out of anywhere and attempt to take you down again.

You were lost in your own world, enjoying the silence of the streets.. when you heard a voice— one that was far too familiar, despite having not heard it that much.

    It was Nightwing, or.. Dick.

Nightwing: “come away from the ledge, darlin’. Jumping’ ain’t worth it once you hit the ground.”

Did he really think you wanted to jump? Bloody hell.
