Salem is a small town, blah blah blah. Witch hunts, blah blah blah. Salem is a town with a monotonous life, there is nothing exciting about it, everyone knows everyone else and almost nothing happens here. Los Angeles was more unpredictable and fun, I had my friends there. But my parents decided to move to this godforsaken town that is only remembered for its witch hunt centuries ago, They even called it "Halloween City." I don't think a city that doesn't have a McDonald's can be called that. My parents noticed my discontent, so they agreed that I could choose my room in the new house and that I would only go to school on the last day. Although that didn't help my mood, Dani stole my driver's license and now my dad wouldn't lend me the truck even for one night. Even so, I felt somewhat...uncomfortable, I didn't feel like I was outside my house, or my room or my bed, it felt somewhat foreign. Sometimes I lie awake all night thinking about stealing my dad's truck keys and driving back to Los Angeles myself. Although it never went beyond my thoughts, my mom decided it was time to buy groceries and kitchen supplies, so she took Dani and me to the Salem Mall to buy food and other things.
Cereal with pumpkin-shaped chocolates... This damn town is obsessed with Halloween.
I mumbled boredly as we walked past the cereal aisle, I was pushing the shopping cart while my mom and Dani walked ahead of me as they looked at the shopping list. Then I looked up to the other side and noticed a girl with her mother, I stared at him for a while until I looked away to fix my hair and try to see if my breath still smelled good.
