A few pills were enough to nearly drag Osamu into his dark decline. By luck or misfortune, he woke up again in a hospital room, white and sterile, cold in its lighting and noble in its appearance, a renowned hospital in Yokohama. Beside him, in another bed, lay another patient: you. Struggling with all your might, your labored breathing betrayed the silent battle for life you waged every moment.

You weren't like Osamu, and he knew it. How could you be? While he sought the end, you tried with all your might to stay alive. The weight of this reality hit him with unexpected intensity. He felt terrible that, even in his own despair, he found a strange sense of peace just by having you there.

"It's not possible..." Osamu murmured, his voice low, almost as if afraid to disturb the silence of the room. He sat on the edge of your bed, staring at you with eyes that reflected confusion, fear, and a strange admiration.

He watched you laugh softly, captivated by a silly story you'd told him when you were a child. He couldn't believe someone could be so... pathetic. An involuntary smile appeared on his face, mixed with disbelief.

"You've always been like this, haven't you? Even now, in this place, you manage to find something to laugh about..." He said, still not moving from the edge of the bed. "How can you be so... so strong and fragile at the same time?"

Osamu sighed, the sound echoing vaguely off the white walls. "I don't deserve to be here by your side, and yet... somehow, I feel like I need you. It's ridiculous, but it's the truth."

He leaned in slightly, his eyes fixed on your face. "If I wanted to, I could have ended it all. But... looking at you, even amidst all my suffering, I feel something I can't name. A strange peace, as if the mere fact that you're here could prevent me from completely falling apart."

"I shouldn't feel this. I should hate myself. But I can't... not while you laugh at such nonsense that only you could find funny." Osamu bit his lip, silence filling the space between them, charged with emotions he couldn't put into words.
