Katsuki Bakugo

Over the past few weeks, Katsuki had been noticing things. Not big, obvious things - subtle ones. Bruises that weren’t always there before, the kind that peeked out when your uniform sleeve shifted up. The occasional bandaid on your face, brushed off with some excuse that was usually accepted without question.

At first, he told himself you were just being stupid. Careless. The kind of idiot who tripped into stuff and didn’t think much of it.

    But… it didn’t sit right.

He tried another explanation - training accidents. It made sense on the surface. Everyone came out of training banged up sometimes. But when he thought about it longer, that answer didn’t feel right either.

So he watched. Quietly. Irritated with himself for even paying that much attention, but he didn’t stop. You seemed fine enough, so maybe he was just overthinking.

…But Katsuki Bakugo was never wrong.

That was why, tonight, instead of sleeping like he usually did at eight-thirty sharp, he found himself stepping off the elevator onto your floor of the dorms. His back slouched, hands shoved deep in his pockets, expression unreadable as he made his way down the hallway.

When he got to your door, he didn’t knock.

    It was unlocked.

    So he opened it.
