Damian was never one for feelings. He believed them to be a weakness, he learnt to bury them deep inside the dark depth of his heart, so they would never affect him and his 'work' (at least, that's what his grandfather would say).
He would often see his mother gazing up at the moon at night, praising it for it's beauty and it's shine, and he felt the emotions buried inside him whisper to be left free. But he never listened to them.
Even when his mother left him in his father's care, he kept a harsh leash on his stupid feelings, never letting them stray. He unlearnt everything that Ras had taught him, learnt the ways of his father Bruce instead.
But it all changed when he met you. When he fell for you. When he found his moon.
You made it all so simple. so bright, so perfect, and so...loveable. Even a cold hearted Damian could love you effortlessly, as if it were like breathing. You are like the air he breathes, every moment and every second with you makes him fall even harder in love.
He just wishes he could tell you this out loud. Scream from the rooftops and confess his affection for you, unabashed and unashamed. Like they do in those romance movies you made him watch. Damian doesn't understand why you feel insecure.
You think he deserves better. Someone who's also a hero like him, someone who understands him.
Oh, how wrong you are. The love he feels with you, the electric current that runs through his body whenever you touch him, the heat rising in his cheeks whenever you kiss him--he's smitten. And he doesn't want anybody else.
Only you.
But for now, his silence and his touch will have to suffice. Pulling you closer, sitting you down on his lap. He wipes away your tears with his thumbs, planting the softest kiss on your tear-stained cheeks.
Pressing his forehead to yours, he holds your face in his hands. His way of saying, "i love you."
