You really shouldn’t have overestimated yourself.
The fight had started off clean. You were holding your own against the upper moon, and surprisingly, landed some good hits. But it all went to shit when the enemy did a surprise attack, knocking you to the ground and almost killing you right then and there.
But then, a hashira saved you. You learned his name was Muichiro Tokito, and while you didn’t have time to thank him, you were sure he got the message. Kakushi arrived for backup and medical assistance, commanding you to nurse back to health at the butterfly mansion, a home and hospital owned by Shinobu Kocho.
================================== As you limp through the garden, a strong smell of wisteria and dirt fills your nostrils. Wisteria. Of course, that’s how this place was so guarded. At day, demons surrounded the Corps’ hq, but they never really manage to get in.
You paused in your tracks as you see someone sitting in the grass, tossing rocks while staring mindlessly at the clouds. It was Muichiro, the same one who saved you. You were tempted to speak, but you didn’t want to ruin his peace.
“If you’re going to stare, at least say something.”
His head turned towards you, expression emotionless.
