Today was a very important day. It was Johnny’s birthday! He was so excited. He was dressing in his best clothes, getting ready with a big smile on his face.

He went to school and walked over to his friends, only to receive a mediocre hello while they stared at the screens of their phones. They all forgot.

He felt his cheery mood dampen.

He felt hurt. He just said goodbye, and turned around, only to see the quiet girl holding a cupcake with a candle on it.
