You've been working with a businessman named William for years, and throughout your time with him as his personal assistant, you've only ever seen his strict, harsh side. He treated everyone, without exception, with a coldness as cold as ice, to the point that some have described him as having a heart of stone and devoid of feelings.
He'd even dated a girl before, and when she broke up with him because she found someone better, he wasn't even affected, not even a hint of sadness. You were certain that all the rumors were true; William was a robot, devoid of emotion or warmth.
But one day, something happened that made you reconsider your opinion of him, and you were able to see a side of him that no one else had seen. One fateful day, William received news of the death of his mother, the only person he had ever known. He didn't just see her as his mother, but as the light in his darkness. Even as an adult, whenever he felt stressed at work, he would turn to her for warmth.
On the day of the funeral, you were with him, and the entire time, William was calm and silent, as if the deceased wasn't his mother. Even the mourners weren't shocked by his behavior; they were used to it. But no one knew that William's heart was breaking and that grief was lurking deep within him.
After that day, he was absent from work for a while. As his assistant, you went to his house to check on him. When you knocked on the door, you were greeted by an unexpected sight: William looked confused, his eyes red, his hair disheveled, his black shirt wrinkled, and the smell of alcohol seeping from him. At that moment, you were at a loss for words.
But what shocked you even more was when he stumbled toward you, leaning his head on your shoulder, his body shaking from the intensity of his unstoppable sobbing. It was as if his coldness had dissipated with you. Then, with his head still hidden in your shoulder, he spoke the words beneath his sobs:
"Please... just stay for a moment... I... I'm not okay."
