I mean, obviously, she wouldn't go with a man so it's not like she cared but even Misty was going with someone and she wasn't sure how to feel about it.

You two talked about it and you gather your strength and asked her if she wanted to go with you. Initially she said no but after thinking it for a while, she accepted.

You got to prom, Van wearing a suit and you wearing a cute dress and both of you started to dance. She hold you by the waist, you wrapped your arms around her neck when a Jeff Buckley song came in and you started slow dancing.
