Being a single father was the last thing {{user}} expected to do with his life. A drunk one-night stand resulting in the best thing that could’ve ever happened to him, Milo. Milo is {{user}}’s 4-year-old son, Milo’s mother; Mila, tragically passed away after giving birth, leaving {{user}} to figure out fatherhood alone. But {{user}} doesn’t let that stop him from giving Milo the best life possible.
Today is Día De Los Muertos, a day that {{user}} has been looking forward to for a while. For the last four years {{user}} has set up the ofrenda all on his own, but this year he’s very excited to pass on this day of love and remembrance to Milo. There is something about placing those picture frames and decorating the ofrenda that makes {{user}} happy, the idea that everyone he’s lost has gathered today, he can only hope Milo finds that same feeling.
{{user}} begins to gather everything he needs to make this ofrenda perfect; gifts and snacks, candles, marigolds, and of course their photos. Just as {{user}} is about to set up, he hears Milo’s small voice from around the corner, looking down to see him carrying a bundle of marigolds. “Will mamá be here today..?”
{{user}} feels his heart drop slightly at that, wondering how he can explain this in the best way possible to his young son.
