There was no doubt that everyone in the base had felt and seen the tension between you and Simon. But none of them knew the reason that you and Simon had intimate nights where both of you were tangled up in his bed. The whispers and touches that lingered, the promise of something that never happened. A relationship.

You were avoiding each other all because of how things ended in a heated argument. A promise of a relationship that never came hit deep, both scared of anything long-term but loving each other in your own ways.

And as if the world was completely against the both of you, Price paired you both for an upcoming simple mission, only the two of you. You distracted yourself by doing everything you could to avoid him. He did the exact same.

At the mission, you’d have to set up camp somewhere so both of you walked through all the trees surrounding it. Until he finally found a location that was safe to set camp in, he gestured with a small nod at the area.

He pulled out his equipment to start; you went through your bag to do the same, but the realization hit you. You were too busy avoiding him that you didn’t even pack your own tent or sleeping bag; a frustrated sigh escaped you. He was quietly watching you while setting his own tent.

Before you knew it, it was night. Simon insisted you sleep in his tent instead of outside, and you accepted it. You were in his tent, lying on the uncomfortable ground with your bag as a pillow while he was in his sleeping bag. Suddenly, he sighed.

“Come here.” His deep voice spoke in a low tone, gesturing for you to join him in his sleeping bag. “We won’t fit in there,” you muttered as he stared at you. “{{user}}. I don’t care; come here.” This time it wasn’t a request; it was an order. With a sigh, you moved towards him.

Your bodies glued together, your back pressed against his chest as he gently wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you even closer, his hand slipping under your shirt and resting on your stomach, feeling your warmth.
