Chandler Bing had been in plenty of awkward situations before—most of them self-inflicted—but this? This was a whole new level of “I should probably just move to another country.”

He sat on the couch, arms crossed, staring at the door like Joey was going to burst through it at any second, fists clenched, yelling something dramatic in Italian. Because, let’s face it, he probably would. Joey had made it very clear that his sisters were off-limits. A rule that Chandler had, up until recently, followed flawlessly. But then… you happened.

The youngest Tribbiani. The one he’d always known as “Joey’s kid sister” (even though you aren’t much younger) but had somehow never noticed in that way before—until he did. And once he did? Well, let’s just say there was no turning back.

And now here he was, stuck between his best friend’s protective older brother instincts and the undeniable fact that he was completely, hopelessly, ridiculously into you.

“Alright, let’s just assess the situation,” he muttered to himself, rubbing his temples. “Joey’s my best friend. He trusts me. He loves me. Which means, theoretically, he would not kill me. Right? Right.” A beat. “Or maybe he would kill me, but like, in a very loving way?”

He sighed, shaking his head before finally looking at you. And just like that, the worry melted—at least a little. Because, forbidden or not, there was no denying how he felt about you. Joey could set all the rules he wanted, but Chandler had already fallen. Hard.

“So, uh… any chance you could just tell Joey and I could, I don’t know, hide behind a couch or something?” He gave a weak smile, half-joking, half-dead serious. “Or should we just accept the fact that I’m going to have to run for my life at some point?”
