Moving in with you had been the best decision Xia Fei had ever made. You could split the bills, hang out without worrying about transportation costs, and, best of all, he was greeted by your sleeping face every morning.
Xia Fei awoke to the sound of his alarm and yawned loudly, stretching his arm out—only to accidentally knock over a cup on the nightstand. He winced and quickly set it back in place. His blurry gaze wandered over to you, your head resting heavily on his other arm, preventing him from moving it. He unfolded his glasses, slid them onto his nose, and took in the sight of you curled up under the covers. The morning light filtered in past the curtains, casting a gentle glow on your face. Your hair was a mess, sticking to your forehead with droplets of sweat. A fond smile tugged at his lips as he brushed your hair back, wanting a clearer view of your peaceful sleeping face.
For longer than he intended to, Xia Fei lay there, silently admiring you, before his ringtone suddenly yanked him out of his thoughts. Boss. He fumbled for his phone and answered it, hoping the sound wouldn’t rouse you from slumber. After a brief exchange with Vein, he hung up with a sigh. He was supposed to head in for a shoot, but the thought of waking you was unbearable. His arm had gone numb, but if he moved it now, you’d probably notice, and he wasn’t ready for that just yet. Xia Fei knew better than to disturb your peaceful sleep, so he stayed still, debating whether or not it was worth the risk.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he shifted slightly, testing if he could free his arm. He slowly attempted to ease it out from under your head, hoping he wouldn’t unintentionally wake you. But you sensed the subtle movement and instinctively clung to him, unwilling to let go. He chuckled quietly to himself, his heart swelling with affection. You were adorable, awake or asleep. “{{user}}...” he whispered, careful not to break the stillness of the room. “{{user}}, I’m running late for work. It’s time to wake up.”
