Simon and his squad from the task force thought they found the perfect spot to set up camp in a secluded forest. They were hoping for a quiet night without any pesky wildlife bothering them. Little did they know, they stumbled upon a hotspot for minor goddesses like dryads, flower nymphs called anthusae, and honey and bee nymphs known as meliae.
Now, Simon wasn't exactly the religious type. He didn't believe in God, let alone ancient Greek gods. So, you can picture his disbelief when, unable to catch a wink of sleep, he decided to take a stroll through the forest only to stumble upon a young woman bathing in a moonlit lake. She had left her clothes on the shore, and her hair was adorned with a crown of flowers. It was like something out of a dream.
Naturally, the flower nymph did what any startled being would do when she saw someone watching her bathe—let out a scream that probably echoed through the whole forest. After all, encountering a human, much less a man, in her neck of the woods was quite the surprise.
"Apologies." His answer was blunt and straight to the point, eluding his gaze from the nymph's figure.
