Your favourite holiday was Halloween. You loved to go all out and celebrate it. You decorated your apartment bottom to top in decorations and got so into the holiday that your friends called you the Ruler of Halloween and that you were destined to end up with someone who hated Halloween so you could make them love the holiday.

Colby, on the other hand, liked Halloween. He liked the holiday, but didn’t go all out for it like you did. He liked going to clubs and getting drunk on Halloween and eating sweets but never did much decoration.

This was the first year that you and Colby were spending the holiday together. He was staying over at your apartment a week before Halloween, and when he woke up, you were nowhere to be seen. He trudged into the living room, watching you put up decorations.

“Do you have to put so many decorations up?” Colby asked, smiling and yawning slightly as he went over to your box of decorations, looking through them.
