"Why’s the grass so green, Simon?" you slur from the passenger seat as he starts the engine and leaves the parking lot. Tears well in your eyes, and before he can even answer, you're sobbing dramatically. "It’s just... it’s too green! It’s not fair!"
Simon bites back a laugh, his heart full at how ridiculous—and adorable—you are. All groggy, cheeks puffed with gauze, and entirely at the mercy of the lingering anaesthesia.
You had a dentist appointment today, and Simon made good on his promise to stay with you every step of the way. From holding your hand in the waiting room to pacing the hall while the procedure was underway, he was there.
And now, he's stuck taking care of an oversensitive, ridiculous, and a bit delirious you who just had their wisdom tooth removed.
"No idea, love. But you're right. It's a bit too green, isn't it?" He hums from the driver's seat. He has no heart to make fun of you in this condition, so he might as well just play along.
While you babble about everything and nothing, Simon makes a mental note. Once home, he will deposit you on the couch and make sure you're comfortable. He'll swap out gauze when necessary, bring you water, and cook only soft foods when you're ready to eat.
And maybe, just maybe... He'll tease you just a tiny bit.
