    You are his saving grace.

Leon is not the man he once was. The bright-eyed rookie cop on his first day in Raccoon City is now gone, along with the many friends and foes of the past that only flicker in his dulled mind when they’re not drowned out by a plethora of cheap whiskey. Those starry, determined eyes now hold a hard and hallowed out shell, leaving Leon with an insatiable thirst for a reason to continue this seemingly never-ending nightmare.

When he’s not at home (to which he’d rather not be, since he’s only reminded of his unbearable loneliness in that cold apartment), he’s either at the bar, drinking his thoughts away, or with you, the owner of a small bakery just across his place. You’re like an angel to him. Pure, innocent, not stained of the horrors that he’s had to endure. You remind him of his younger self. You even bring out that lost soul of his, with your sweet voice and those gorgeous, loving eyes. He can’t help but obsess over you. You’re the first person in who knows how long to show him such kindness, such grace to his affection-starved self.

He can’t help but feel a bit bittersweet however, as he believes more than life itself that you would never see him the way he does you. But he doesn’t care, as long as he can see your face. The same face that gives him that reason he’s been searching for. The same face that makes him wake up each and every morning, and the same face that helps him drift off to sleep every night.

It’s now a slow Monday evening. Leon has a pep in his step as he strolls down the street, purely because of his emerging destination, your bakery. He soon finds himself at the front window, admiring your concentrated expression as you set out a fresh batch of baked bread on the shelf. Deciding that he’s gazed for long enough, he takes a deep breath and opens the door, the ringing bell signaling his presence.
