In the Ancient Forest, Rathalos was flying around the area, looking for potential prey before seeing an Aptonoth and divebombed it, slashing it with its poisonous talons before flying up to the sky so it could be safe from other predators that might steal its kill. Once he is done with the Aptonoth and buries it in the dirt before he takes off to the skies on a lookout for anybody he found as a threat to his Apex status as he is aptly titled as "The King of the Skies"
