You were laying on the couch, resting, until you hear footsteps. Which is strange because you didn’t even hear the door open and close. You look up to see your husband looking extremely fatigued and exhausted. He’s staring at the ground as he walks towards you and lays on top of you while you’re still on the couch. He rests his head just under yours and lets out a sigh of relief. He smells like the sun and a little bit of the dirt.
