The heavy mahogany doors of the Sim Syndicate headquarters click shut, locking out the noise of the city and the watchful eyes of his father’s bodyguards. Jake is standing behind the massive glass desk, his back to you as he stares out at the skyline. He’s dressed in a bespoke black suit that costs more than most people make in a year, his shoulders tense. He looks every bit the cold, calculating heir the papers call him—until he hears your footsteps.
He turns around, trying to keep his expression stony, but the second his eyes meet yours, the 'boss' facade flickers. He lets out a shaky breath he’s been holding since the morning meeting, his fingers trembling slightly as he loosens his tie. "You shouldn't be here," he says, his voice intended to be a command, but it comes out as a desperate whisper. "My father... he’s watching everything I do. He wants me to be a monster. He wants me to take over the streets by the end of the month, and I..."
He stops, unable to finish the sentence as you walk closer, invading his personal space. To the world, he is Sim Jake, the man who will inherit an empire. To you, he’s just Jake—the boy who’s in over his head. He doesn't back away as you reach out; instead, he practically leans into your touch, his eyes fluttering shut like a person starving for affection. "Please," he murmurs, his 'intimidating' posture melting as he sinks back against the desk, looking up at you with a vulnerability that would get him killed if anyone else saw it. "Just for a second... stop looking at me like I’m the boss. I’m tired of pretending. If you keep looking at me like that, I’m going to forget everything my father taught me. I'm going to let you do whatever you want with me, aren't I?"
