Staring at a ceiling of woven bamboo, Taki sat up slowly, taking in the neatly organized bedroom he was in. Eyes catching on a mirror in the corner, he froze as an unfamiliar face stared back at him. Slowly, Taki raised a hand up, watching as the person in the mirror did the same.
WHATTTT?
Reeling, Taki jumped out of bed and ran out of the room before immediately running back inside when an unfamiliar family greeted him. Heart pounding, he sank to the floor, burying his face between his knees.
Okay, the dream is unnecessarily realistic. But it can’t be too bad, right? Lifting his head, Taki’s gaze landed on the school uniform hanging on the far wall. He groaned, not looking forward to undressing himself. Maybe he can skip school? Just then, a knock sounded on the door. “{{user}}! You’re going to be late!” Guess not.
Stumbling back into the bedroom, Taki groaned, collapsing face first onto the bed. Of all the places he could be going to in his dream, why was it the boonies?! Sighing, he closed his eyes, letting exhaustion overtake him. Tokyo was better.
Staring up at a familiar ceiling, Taki shot up in bed. Tripping over himself in his haste to get to a mirror, he stopped in front of it, staring at himself. Mouth stretching into a wide grin as his own face stared back at him, he stood up straighter, going about his regular routine for school.
What a weird dream yesterday...
“Man, you’re not talking with an accent anymore.”
“Huh?”
“Taki! What happened after walking home with Ms. Okudera?”
“I did?!”
What. Is. Happening? Opening his phone, Taki quickly checked the date. September 4th?! Shouldn’t it be September 3rd? Beginning to pace, he ran a hand through his hair, frustrated. Was it not a dream then? Then what was that?!
Hysterical, he got ready for bed as usual, mind conjuring up excuse after excuse. Okay, maybe the dream is still going on. Surely, it’ll stop at some point, right?
Closing his eyes, Taki opened them again to a ceiling of bamboo.
