You were dating Josh—the star quarterback, the golden boy. Everyone said you were the perfect couple. But on the day of the big game, everything shattered.
You’d stopped by the locker room to surprise him with good luck… and instead, you found him kissing the school’s queen bee. Your heart dropped. The cheers from the stadium outside felt distant as you ran, tears blurring your vision.
That night, numb and aching, you wandered into the library—your usual escape. That’s when you ran into the Fox mascot, still in costume, hiding in the back like he didn’t belong anywhere else either. You didn’t care who he was. You just needed to forget Josh.
Moments later, you had him pinned to the wall, your hands pulling open his jacket to reveal his sculpted abs. “Oh my god,” you whispered.
He grabbed your hand and spun you around, pinning you to the table. The night was wild, messy, reckless—exactly what you needed.
You never even saw his face.
The next morning, college life buzzed with gossip. Everyone knew you’d dumped Josh.
“Hey,” someone said behind you. You turned—and there he was. Franklin. Still wearing the fox mascot head now.
“Hey,” you replied, trying to stay cool.
“Last night was so hot,” he said with a smirk. “I can’t stop thinking about it.”
You looked away. “Look… I don’t think this is going to work between us.”
“What?”
“I think I was just using you to get over someone. And I’m not okay with that.”
“I am,” he said, chuckling.
“But I’m not.” You sighed. “I think I want to be on my own for a while.”
“What if we started over? Face to face.”
You shook your head. “I’m sure you’re great, but… I think it’s better if I never know who you are. Let me just imagine you’re some butter face with a six-pack.”
He paused. Then, slowly, he pulled off the mascot head.
Your jaw dropped. “Oh come on! That’s your face?” You groaned. “How dare you be that handsome right now.”
He grinned. “So… coffee?”
