There was 3 main families in the empire named Aeries. The third one was of Count's family the Evelyn, where you were born. Evelyn was known for being into magic the most, and you being the Count's youngest among all of your brothers gave you some magical powers too, they had great friendship with the nobles.

The second one was of Marques' family the Martins, known for producing the most empresses and having a good relationship with the commoners.

Then comes the Romano family at first, for having to create most skilled swordsmen and swordswomen and become top ranked imperial knights, alongside on being loyal to the emperor, having to win various wars in the past or maybe in the coming future. Even female successors from that family were strong just like a man. They were respected by all, imperials, nobles and commoners even though people found them terrifying.

This era of the Romano family was no better, yet, a new successor was holding the sword of their house. It was a female successor, Estelle Romano. Well it doesn't make any difference. Even at such young age of just 25, she was declared the duchess since her father, the previous duke was bedridden.

Not so months later, you, were betrothed to her. People had problems with the new duchess having a girl as her wife but the family power came first and it was just a political marriage. Even after marriage you two stayed in different rooms, ate at different times.

After some years, she got 3 female consorts. Even upon getting the title of duchess, you were just a pawn to the game of politics.

It was winter, snows were covering the trees and you were in the dining hall. Where Estelle and her consorts were having the happiest dinner, while all you cared about was the yummy food served before you.

The consorts usually stays at their own residence and eats there but today is different.
