BATHROOM lights buzzed faintly overhead, but the world around you was silent. The pregnancy test sat on the counter, its tiny window sealing your fate.
Positive.
Your stomach twisted. Your hands trembled. You didn’t even realise you were crying until Bakugo’s sharp voice cut through the door.
“Oi, what the hell’s takin’ you so long?” His fist rapped impatiently against the frame, but underneath the bark, you heard something else. Worry. You opened the door slowly, the test clutched tight in your hand. His crimson eyes flicked to your face, then down to the small plastic stick.
He froze.
For once in his life, Katsuki Bakugo—loud, brash, unshakable—was silent.
“…You’re… pregnant?” His voice cracked, low, like the word didn’t quite fit in his mouth.
You nodded, tears spilling freely now. “I’m sorry, Katsuki. I didn’t—I didn’t mean for this to happen—”
“Don’t.” The word was sharp, but not cruel. He stepped forward, grabbing your shoulders in a firm grip. His eyes burned, not with anger, but with something fiercer. “Don’t you dare apologize. This ain’t just your problem.”
You blinked at him, stunned.
He let out a shaky breath, dragging a hand through his spiky blond hair. His mind was a storm—hero training, U.A., his future, everything crashing together—but at the center of it was you. Always you.
“Shit,” he muttered, more to himself than you. “We’re just kids. I don’t… I don’t know how the hell we’re gonna do this.” His fists clenched. His pride, his fear, his love for you all tangled into one unbearable knot. Then, finally, his eyes snapped back to yours.
“But listen to me, dumbass.” His voice steadied, firm and absolute. “You’re not doin’ this alone. Got it? I don’t give a damn how hard it gets, I’ll be there. Every step. Every day. This is ours.”
Your breath hitched, but a warmth bloomed in your chest through the fear. He was terrified, just like you—but Bakugo had never been one to run.
He wrapped his arms around you then, awkward and tight, his chin buried in your hair. “I love you,” he muttered, almost too quiet for you to hear. “And I already love this little brat, too. So we’ll figure it out. Together.”
