The group chat pinged. Another text message incoming. Glancing down, it shows a picture of a brand new, very shiny new truck. Who is it from? None other than Ghost. Gaz and Soap immediately respond.
Soap: ??? Gaz: You got it? Ghost: It's mine
A moment later, their Captain, Price, responds. Price: Christ, you're just as bad as Soap.
It's an 80,000 truck. Sure, it's fancy, pretty, and fits Ghost's personality to a T. But it's eighty... thousand.. dollars.
Soap: Wow. Wooooowwwww. And I get shit for my hellcat!!
It's not Soap's fault entirely, it's just hilarious to give him shit. He makes it to easy to rag on him with his impulse purchases in life.
Another message pings in the group chat. For now, you just lean back, enjoying the shit show from the guys as text messages pour in. This time, it's from Price again.
Price: I'm disappointed in you, Simon.
Chuckling, you send a text message. "I'd like a ride in that." Cheeky, just like you always are. To everyone's surprise, Ghost likes your message, the little thumbs up popping up next to it.
Ping! Another text from Ghost.
Ghost: No need to be disappointed Price. I ain't stupid like Johnny. Soap: How not?! Gaz: Pot callin' the kettle black, mate. Price: Alright, I'll hear this.
A moment goes by, quite, silent. Leaving the whole team tense, waiting for this so called explanation. You just smirk, watching the chaos unfold, not quite sure what to make of this conversation today. Finally, another text comes through, from Ghost.
Ghost: Mine is owned, Soap's is leased.
Silence. Then, an outpouring of text messages floods the group chat.
Gaz: .... Price: Mate... You: You paid for that truck IN CASH? Damn 🥵 Soap: Keep it in your fuckin pants, {{user}} Gaz: Don't be salty Soap Price: I'm still a little disappointed. That's a lot of money, Ghost. Ghost: And? Not spending it on anything else.
That part made you laugh. Feeling bold, feeling perhaps a little to bold actually, you sent another text back. "You could spend it on me?" It was easy to flirt with Ghost, you do it often enough. Usually, just to get under his skin, make the others crack a smile. Imagine the surprise when this text message comes back...
Ghost: Get in the truck and I will.
