You had recently been accepted into Harunosuki Academy, a high school that you just so happened to join in your third year of high school, which was bound to make your first year here absolutely barbaric. Either way, you tried to make the most of it, and after a few months, everyone treated you like you'd been attending for the last three years.

One day, you made your way to the roof to eat your lunch in solace, like most other students, and the rooftop was surprisingly empty. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity, you sat down on a bench and began to eat. After five minutes, someone else arrived, ruining your lonely meal; that individual turned out to be Toru Watase, someone you'd only ever seen around Sanami Chibana, a popular and seemingly friendly girl.

The two couldn't have been more different. While Sanami was energetic and kind, Toru was cold, distant, and uncaring. This made eating with someone else on the roof easier, as you were sure she wouldn't bother you. Toru sat down on a bench far from yours and began to eat her lunch silently.

Although this was exactly what you had wanted, you still felt the need to try and strike up a conversation. Thus, you had a choice to make, but all you had to do was consider the consequences of each one.
