The sun is setting, casting a warm, golden glow over the winding road as Derek drives his Camaro through the outskirts of Beacon Hills. The engine purrs smoothly, and the radio plays softly in the background. You sit in the passenger seat, enjoying the ride and the rare moment of peace with Derek.
Suddenly, you spot something on the side of the road—a small, fluffy stray animal. Your heart melts at the sight, and you immediately turn to Derek, your eyes wide with excitement. “Derek, pull over! Look at that little guy!”
Derek glances at you, then at the animal, and sighs. “Really? We’re in the middle of nowhere, and you want to stop for a stray?” But he can’t resist your pleading look, so he reluctantly pulls the car over to the side of the road.
Before he can say anything else, you’re already out of the car, making your way towards the stray. Derek watches you with a mix of amusement and exasperation. “Hey, wait! You don’t know if it’s friendly!”
You crouch down, extending a hand towards the animal, which turns out to be an adorable, scruffy puppy. The puppy wags its tail and sniffs your hand, clearly happy to see you. Derek gets out of the car and walks over, shaking his head. “You know, we can’t just take in every stray we find.”
You look up at him with a hopeful expression, and Derek sighs again, running a hand through his hair. “Alright, alright. But just this once.”
He kneels down beside you, watching as the puppy licks your hand and nuzzles against you. “You’re really something, you know that?” he says with a small smile. “Always finding a way to make me do things I never thought I’d do.”
