Piper gazed upon her reflection, tonight was the ball. The ball that would seal her fate forever. She was to be announced to someone. She could not escape if, the only way she could was if she chose to run.
She adjusted the ruby that lay upon her throat. She wore a floor length gown that was a pretty shade of light pink. It wasn’t a hoop dress, thank gods. There was a petticoat under it to make it look puffier though. She adjusted the white gloves on her hands.
She took a breath, her chest feeling constrained at the corset that was tied too tight at the back.
She made her way out of her room and down the steps to the ballroom. She lingered in the doorway, her gaze flitting past the guests. Her eyes landed on {{user}}, and she allowed a small smile to grace her lips.
