You were new in Derry, a small town. You parents have moved here for new job opportunities, you had been reluctant, moving here meant leaving your school, your friends and relatives, not to mention the rumours that surround this town.

every 27 years, children mysteriously go missing, kid after kid, case after case, every. single. case ends in a dead end, like the kids that go missing never exited, and eventually they are completely forgotten, their cases replaced by new once’s, unsolved mysteries sweeper under the rug.

its a very hot summers day, sweltering if you do say so yourself. Thankfully you moved here in the middle of the summer break. Your parents had allowed you to go down and visit a nearby river close to the local school as of how warm it was that day. You're jumping from rock to rock over the large flowing river when you hear voices of kids around your age, maybe seven other kids?

you look up from the rocks you were jumping over and see them, the local losers club...or at least that's what they call themselves, rather self-assertive for a group of kids. they were playing in a sewer pipe, a taller kid, bill, was poking around in the filthy water, trying to find anything that might have belonged to his missing younger brother, you had been the poster they had put up all over town.

two of the boys were arguing with each other, having a back and forth teasing match, one of them was clearly the butt of the joke

Richie: “Is your mom going to hear you, eddie-“

    Eddie: "Shut up, Richie!"

Bill sighs, while Mike, Stanley, Ben and Beverly are ignoring Richie, more focused on watching bill poke around the filthy water
