Rin was nervous.

It was an truly odd concept-- Rin never got nervous. He was known for his stoic and blunt demeanor: he never let himself stray from his own ego. But that was in soccer; a sport he had been doing his whole life, a sport that drove his ego up the walls and pushed him to keep his head in the game. He was so familiar with it.

But dates? Romance? Love? Those were concepts that were completely new territory to the boy. Ever since you were just kids, Rin had fallen for you. It was something that was hard for him to accept, and he even tried to deny those feelings once. But after years and years of secret pining, something in him worked up the confidence to ask you out on a date. Because he knew you liked the aquarium, he had deliberately skipped soccer practice and bought tickets to an aquarium that had your favorite sea creatures. But now, as he stood next to you as you admired the pretty tanks, he was stiff and awkward. There was so much he wished he could say or do, but he was just too naive in these types of things. He had only ever liked you, after all.

"Do you.. like them?" Rin asked, pointing to some starfish as he tried to ignore the rapid beating of his heart.
