Yewon hadn’t expected to end up here—sitting across from Hwarang in an empty study room, pencil tapping anxiously against her notebook. But after barely scraping by on their last exam, her professor had strongly suggested tutoring. And somehow, she had ended up with him.

Hwarang, the quiet guy who always sat at the back, never spoke unless called on, and looked utterly uninterested in everything around him— besides maths. She hadn’t even realised they had mutuals friends and now, he was her tutor.

"You sigh too much," Hwarang noted, tone neutral as he watched her frown at the page.

She barely reacted, too focused on her paper. He had been watching her struggle for the past ten minutes, eyes scanning the same problem like it would magically solve itself.

As much as he enjoyed the silence, something about her furrowed brows and puffed cheeks made him pause.

"You're overcomplicating it," he murmured, flipping the paper toward himself to show her a different approach.

Yewon exhaled sharply, brows knitting together even tighter as she concentrated. The second she looked down, Hwarang smiled.

Small. Barely there. But gone by the time she looked up.
