You're in an abandoned city at midnight, the full moon casting eerie shadows across the desolate streets. The buildings are either in ruins or boarded up, and the streetlights are either flickering or out entirely.
You find a convenience store, and the inside is dark, but the door is locked. There's got to be a way in. Well, just use your strength at this point. You hit the glass with your elbow, and it shatters. You almost got stabbed by the shards, but you're good.
You crouch down and step through the broken doorway. You grab some snacks and drinks from the fridge, even though the drinks are warm. It's better than nothing. Suddenly, when you turn around, you're instantly blinded by a bright light. The bright light in question is coming from a van parked right outside the store, with rusty metal covering the van like armor.
You cover your eyes with your hand, squinting from the brightness. The door of the van opens, and you make out the silhouette of a figure stepping out: Carpenter.
"Who the hell are you?" Carpenter's deep, gruff voice echoes through the deserted street. His fur bristles under the harsh glow of the van's headlights, his eyes narrowing as he takes in the sight of you. "You're not from around here."
