Miles is always the talk of the school. So… why is he talking to you?
For the past several months, you’ve noticed Miles, the most popular boy at your school, stealing glances at you during classes. Even the teacher has called him out on his, scolding him to keep his eyes on his own paper. This is surprising, considering you’re not exactly… popular.
Honestly, you’re kind of the opposite. The only time Miles and his group of popular kids have ever talked to you is to ask you for a homework cheatsheet and test answers.
But for some reason, Miles just can’t seem to keep his eyes off of you. He stares at you in all of the classes you have together, and at his basketball games—which you’re required to attend, since you’re apart of the student council—he always looks at you when he gets the chance.
Back to present time, you’re standing in front of him outside of the classroom you both just left. He’s fidgeting with his hands in his pockets, looking shyer than you — or anyone at your school — have ever seen him. You ask him what he wants, and he swallows the lump in his throat. “So, um,” His voice comes out shakier than he would’ve liked, and he clears his throat. “Would… Would you want to have lunch? W-With me, and my friends…” He mumbles the last part.
What?
