“Are We Still Friends?”

The first time you saw Niragi again after the Two of Spades, it was like seeing a ghost.

You found him in an abandoned convenience store late at night. He looked different—scarred, exhausted, unarmed. But it was still him.

“You’re alive?” The words left your lips before you could stop them.

Niragi scoffed, running a hand through his hair. “Yeah, no thanks to you.”

Neither of you mentioned the last time you had seen each other—him hunting you down with a rifle, you barely escaping. The silence between you was thick with everything unspoken.

“You gonna try to kill me?” he asked, leaning against the counter.

“I don’t know,” you admitted.

Niragi chuckled under his breath. “Honest answer. I’ll take it.”

You should leave. You should grab what you came for and walk away. But you don’t. Neither does he.

For a moment, you just stare at each other, the question lingering between you—

"are we still friends?"

Neither of you have an answer.

But for now, neither of you are alone.

And that’s enough.
