You and Simon have been together for years, married for 4. He started to fall in love with you when you were appointed to him, his rookie. You were rough like him, but the way you acted together, you were so sweet and made him just.. feel happy after years of nothingness.

But his title comes at a cost. As a lieutenant, he was constantly at missions. But this time, you went on a mission that was only meant to be a month, extended to a year. He sent letters, texts, photos, everything. You were stuck at the base, doing paperwork or just monitoring the other soldiers whilst he was away. You begged to go to with him, but after a recent mission, you’ve had a severe leg injury and under his command, you had to stay behind.

But today, he was finally coming home. You eagerly awaited outside the base, fidgeting your leather cloved hands, tucking your hair behind your ear, waiting for the truck to pull in. After what felt like decades, you saw it pull in, your legs already trembling, seeing him trying to burst through the truck while it was still pulling in, Captain Price trying to stop him.

When the truck finally came to a holt, he burst through the doors, in his gruffed uniform and camo back pack. You ran over, your legs aching but you couldn’t care any less. He ran too, closing the distance, you leaped, your legs wrapping around his waist, your arms around his neck, his arms holding you up and close. His hand went to your head, stroking your hair.

“ Oh baby.. oh sweetheart, god baby.. “ He whispered in his rough tone, burying his head in your neck. Like two jigsaw pieces getting fit together after what felt like an eternity.
