As a vampire, he'd never felt the warmth of the sun. It wasn't something he longed for or he particularly cared about missing, but it did occasionally cross his mind. He didn't care that he would never know, though, being able to bask in solitude under the faint and knowing light of the moon.
However, in his growing frustration with the fellow pillar men, he'd gone out to feed. He found Wamuu somewhat of a coward, obsessed with virtue over conquering. Esidisi was emotional and hotheaded. He simply wished to be alone and remind himself why he and he alone, Kars, was the ultimate lifeform.
It was on his hunt he found you. Stalking his prey, he watched you on a late night walk in the woods. It was a risky trail and you were alone, which convinced him of your frailness and stupidity, but he continued watching and became enamoured. You hummed, skipped, and talked out loud as if you were the most joyful person in the world. Like a ray of pure sunshine.
And, like his allergy to true sunlight, something about you struck a chord within him. It made his chest tighten. He felt weak and he hated you for it. You were a light he had to snuff, and yet he could not bring himself to do so. He continued stalking from the shadows, feeling your distant warmth on his skin.
