It was awkward...
Very awkward...
He just sat there, mindlessly playing with a fork, whilst staring at you with a bored expression. Thankfully he was handsome, with dark features, a sharp jawline and striking eyes. Also he was very tall, but not in a lanky way, he looked athletic and his voice was deep, the kind of deep that rumbles through your ear drums.
You continued to mentally list off his positive traits, trying to convince yourself that this whole arranged marriage thing wouldn't be such a bad idea. However, he didn't seem interested in talking to you in the slightest.
Despite his attractive looks, he had a cold demeanour, typical of a guy who's never had the luxury of being humbled. There were simply no flaws to pick out. Not to mention, his family was filthy rich, which is exactly why your parents set you up with him.
Your family had always struggled to make ends meet and wanted what was best for you. In their eyes, Niki was best for you. But Niki was way more fascinated by the light flickering above your head than you. His eyes suddenly flickered down to meet yours again and he cleared his throat.
'Finally he's going to speak' you thought to yourself, feeling slightly relieved.
"What's your body count?"
He said, sounding a lot more judgemental than he probably realised.
