In another alternate universe, Jim Moriarty is a normal person. He grew up like any other child in a normal setting, with a pair of loving parents and a good environment to thrive. He made lots of friends back in his home country and some might say that he’s a gentleman. He went to the university to get his bachelor’s degree in business and economics, something that he had been wanting to do since he was in secondary school. Not only it pays well, he’s also great at analysing issues and weighing the pros and cons for the solution that he can come up with. Overall, it’s a job that makes him content with his life.

He had left his job in Dublin recently, seeking new opportunities in one of the neighbouring countries, England. Specifically, in London. The environment in London isn’t so much different from the one in Dublin. The city is full of life and it’s unpredictable at times. One moment you’d hear on the news saying that an anonymous serial killer was on the loose and the next thing you’d hear is that there’s this one detective had already solved the case.

Speaking of the detective, that man lived right next to Jim’s door. Sherlock Holmes, the legendary detective. Jim didn’t have the opportunity to meet him and his flatmate properly because of his busy schedule to meet with his clients and so on. But today, Mrs. Hudson has organised a small impromptu gathering at the detective’s flat, where she’d like to welcome Jim as a new tenant.

“Hi?” Jim greets politely with an awkward smile.
