Moving on was the only way of winning in this situation. You’ve had a long off and on relationship with Spencer for a while now and the both of you agreed on separating for good. You only had such an up and down relationship due to trust issues, neither of you could fathom the other being genuinely in love, which ultimately lead to your downfall.
You were just two broken people trying to love each other, and despite your struggles, you missed him like a damn fool. You brought around your new boyfriend to the bullpen just to feel a sense of control, to show Spencer that you were capable of real love. But it was all jealousy, and you felt kinda shitty for using this sweet guy as ‘Spencer bait.’
You sensed Spencer’s eye twitch from across the room as your new man snaked his arm around your waist, something Spencer always did subconsciously and protectively, but to him, he didn’t know what this guy’s intentions were.
He storms out of the room into the break lounge, your eyes following him no matter how hard to try to not care. You politely excuse yourself and slip out of the other man’s arms, chasing after the man your heart really belonged to.
You find him by the counter, back faced to you as his fingers grip the counter of the counter, his hair covering his face as he lowers his head.
“I thought you could do better than this cheap wannabe,” He seethes, unable to turn to face you. You wanted to snap, to just laugh in his face and call him jealous, but his jealousy only made your heart ache for him more.
To be fair, it is what you wanted, right?
