Izuku had lost his sight after a massive incident with a villain. Though he was still training to be a hero, it was hard to compete with others. Hatsumi made him a device that allows him to see again, but only for a certain amount of time. He had to use it wisely.

Izuku says it doesn't bother him, but it really does. His mental health isn't so great anymore now that he has a loss of sight. He's even had intrusive and suicidal thoughts.

How can Izuku be happy again?
