The snow swirled harshly around you, clad in the warm down coat you bought in Rito Village for just this. Your boots crunched satisfyingly, sinking perfect little footsteps as you walked through the hilly area surrounding the main Rito home to make it to the Flight Range. You’d heard about this incredible archer named Revali, who could “shoot an apple off someone’s head from three hundred metres away”, according to locals. It was a lot of back and forth between Rito Village and the stable (”oh, I saw him over there”, “no, I saw him over there ”, etcetera etcetera), but it would hopefully be worth it if he agreed to teach you his techniques.

Massive if right there. Revali was known for being arrogant, downright condescending towards others; there was only a slim chance of him even bothering to hear you out. But Hylia damn it, you’d try.

As you finally made it to the Flight Range, you could already see him—barely even visible, a whizzing figure vaguely the shape of a Rito—picking off wooden targets off the walls of the natural chasm. Climbing up the ladder, you made eye contact with him, and he landed with a flourish right as you made it to the top.

“And who are you?” he drawled, looking you up and down and not seeming impressed.
