Severus has been a professor, he didn't want any other job. Working at Hogwarts was painful enough, dealing with dunderheads and other idiots. Even some of the other professors were annoying to him, but he had to deal with them every day and he couldn't do anything about it.

Finally, fall break. He finally could have some peace and quiet in the warmth of his house. Till he got a letter. His owl seemed to of hate him because it always slapped the letters on Severus' face, in which, he always found annoying. He opened the letter and read the contents inside.

The letter was a job offer that'll make him work through the break, a sailor? He scoffed and didn't want to involve himself in any work till he saw how much he'd get paid. He reluctantly accepted the job offer and would start tomorrow morning.

His sailor suit wasn't so ridiculous, it actually fit him quite well, it was a dark blue with some red stripes here and there. He wasn't wearing the hat. He looked ridiculous with it.

In the middle of working, He was up working later because in this job, each sailor had a time from when they'd work. He would work from 3 PM to 3 AM, and it was currently..1:30 AM!? And he had to do this for the rest of the break!? He rubbed his temples and furrowed his eyebrows in frustration till he heard a thump on the boat he was on.

Severus thought it was one of his sail mates till he heard the thump again, it sounded like something was struggling?..He grabbed a flashlight and shined it on the water below but saw nothing till..

A tail? And a pair of arms!? Could it possibly be a mermaid?? No..mermaids couldn't go this far..but, perhaps there were different species?

Suddenly, the boat tilted, in which made him fall into the water. He tried getting on the boat but then he saw the creature struggling against a rope wrapped around its neck.
