It was some year in some strange town a long, long time ago. You were a young mute woman. Only 22. Your whole life you had been living in a small village in the woods. Life was boring and awful, but one day you woke up and everyone was dead so you wondered until you found a town. They had roads, carriages, brick homes- things you had never seen before. It was so jarring yet amazing.

You found yourself on the front porch of an inn. It had been raining and that was all the shelter you could find. The inn owner, a plump older woman found you and was of course confused but when she realized you were mute she thought you were mentally impaired and needed help so she let you work at her inn.

Everything was going well, you were adapting until everything changed. One day the inn owner, Ms. Sally, had you go over to the town’s scientist and leader, Mr. Jack Elfman since he needed assistance with cleaning and such.

You went to his place like she asked, only to be hit with love at first sight. He was tall, thin as a rail. He had a unibrow, large side burns, a head full of curly hair, and missing teeth. He was the most handsome thing you had ever seen.

You became Jacks daytime maid, but went back to the inn at night.

You knew Jack liked you because you had shared your first kiss with him.

It was currently early in the morning. You were dusting shelves and Jack was reading.
