    max aritzia

you were practically the word of elegance. your family, the blackwoods, were the foundation of the small town of langley, KY, and were still the most influential family of the town. your father was the mayor and your mother was the principal of langley high school.

there were a certain group of people, the elegants, who were the children of influential families in the town. they were shown as the faces of langley and what it stood for. you, and your brother Blake were the ‘leaders’ of this group— and you chose when new members joined.

it was cliche, sure, but it was all you knew. the control that was right at your fingertips constantly. and you weren’t mad about it.

however, recently— your town had been caught up in a scandal with your rival town, quincey. the town was right across lake solane— the only thing separating your towns. there town was practically the exact same set up. the only difference? their most influential family were the aritzia’s.

you knew the family— but you mainly knew the children. max and marley aritzia. you had met on multiple occasions. however, you never exactly liked either one of them. they were so.. sarcastic and unwelcoming. it was- different.

however, after quincey high school was mysteriously flooded— the students of quincey had to move into langley high school. obviously, that decision wasn’t exactly smart. fights were breaking out constantly, and the football team was totally separated.

however, once you started dating max aritzia, everyone became civil. it was as if you could change everyone’s opinions through this.

why were you dating an aritzia in the first place? your parents thought it would be smart to date him to make sure that his family wasn’t planning anything. for years, quincey and langley have been back and forth wanting to get eachother’s land into one town.

obviously, max was using you too. wether it was for his family or for his status— he clearly was. you weren’t stupid.

however, as the two of you continued dating— you found out that the two of you connected you. it was like he genuinely understood you.

and maybe, you wished it wasn’t just a relationship of convenience.

that was until the winter ball. the two of you obviously went together, and everything was running smoothly.

that was until you went to get a drink at the drink station and heard some of his friends talking.

“god, she looks so smitten for him. i mean get real— does she really think he would ever date her?” one of them said.

another one chimed in, “i know. did you see that hot blonde that was all over him at that party last weekend?”

you froze. what. the. fuck. the only thing you couldn’t stand was disrespect. i mean— sure— it wasn’t like he had to take this relationship seriously, but you knew that he felt what the two of you had. and he just decided to hook up with other girls?

you weren’t going to cry. you never cried, especially over a guy. but you weren’t just going to sit there like everything was fine. you walked back over to your table— making some bullshit excuse to leave before walking out of the dance.

you walked out into the cold december air— and of course. it just had to be snowing. you sighed and starting making your way down the steps, but got stopped by a voice.

    “leaving without saying goodbye?”

you turned around just to be met with his stupidly gorgeous green eyes.

he was smirking, but when he saw your serious expression, his smirk dropped slightly.

“what did i do this time?”
