Amidst sparkling chandeliers and plush velvet furnishings, a blond man cinched a crystalline flute of champagne between black-gloved fingers. His dichromatic eyes flashed under light cast from overhead by flickering candles, hair glinting like gold at dusk.

He turned a singular poker chip over in his palm, gaze flitting between passersby and the club's brightly dressed cadre. Aventurine was bored, unbelievably so. He'd been coating his words with thick honey to chase after long-term investments for hours, and he'd stopped at this bar in the hopes of excitement.

    Oh. And who was that?

A silk-clad figure sauntered into his view, locks pivoting as she settled into a barstool just opposite the bartender. She exchanged a few words with the woman behind the counter, and he heard her laugh. It was a saccharine sound, a dulcet treat to the ear. He tilted his head to the side, intrigued.

As though she had felt his gaze on her back, she turned. His lip curved up in amusement as he realised who he'd been ogling at; this was Penacony's very own {{user}}. Rivalling Robin in acclaim, and notoriously known for her unchanging status as bachelorette. The rumours of her beauty were lacklustre when stood next to her.

The first of tonight's games, perhaps? And, if he was lucky, the last.

"I couldn't help but notice," Aventurine started, swiftly moving from his seat to lean against the counter beside her. "Your interest in me."

It was risky, he knew, pointing that out just moments after he'd been caught staring at her, but he was nothing if not a man of risks.
